The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigationthrough the Rural Agricultural Productive Development Program (Agro Rural), announced that it is in the conditioning phase of the nurseries in which 180,000 seedlings associated with agro-forestry systems will be produced, benefiting 160 families of small producers from nine Amazon communities.
This with the purpose of foresting, reforesting and encouraging the economic development of family farming producers in that region.
Of the 180,000 seedlings that will be planted, 60,000 seedlings are coffee and the other 120,000 seedlings, which will be installed on 120 hectares within the framework of the Interinstitutional Management Agreement signed in April 2022, are from five forest species: tekunumani pine, radiata pine, eucalyptus saligna, capirona and mahogany.
Intervention areas
Agro Rural plans to plant seedlings in nine communities in the Cajaruro (Quintaleros, Caña Brava and El Progreso), Bagua Grande (Miraflores, Buenos Aires, Agua Azul and Nueva Alianza) and Lonya Grande (Yungay and Rodríguez Tafur) districts. ; located in the province of Utcubamba.
Activities
As part of the activities that are being carried out within the framework of this agreement, supplies and materials were delivered for the construction of nurseries, compost production and liquid foliar fertilizers in the intervention districts; delivery of tools (pruners, machetes, pruning shears) for pruning management in existing forest plantations.
Within the framework of the agreement, the goals are the production of compost with earthworm humus and fertilizers.
Likewise, the executing entity also participates with two professionals who will be in charge of field monitoring, training and advice for the installation of the nurseries; In addition to assigning a linear motorcycle and a 04 Tn van truck for the transport of materials for the nurseries, which will serve to transport the professionals and the seedlings; respectively.
