The Agribusiness Confidence Index (ICAgro), of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), closed the 1st quarter of 2022 at 111.5 points, 1.9 points above the survey for the last quarter of 2021. compared to the same period last year, when the index stood at 117.4, there was a drop of 5.9 points.
Results above 100 points are in the range considered optimistic by the study methodology, while results below 100 indicate pessimism.
According to Fiesp, the positive result compared to the end of last year was driven by the industries located after Porteira, the only segment among those surveyed in which confidence improved, since the indexes of the Antes da Porteira industry and agricultural producers fell from the previous quarter.
“The good moment of agribusiness exports is one of the reasons that can be attributed to the increase in optimism, since many companies that make up the Antes da Porteira group are exporters”, explained the director of the Fiesp Agribusiness Department, Roberto Betancourt.
