The traditional authorities of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca and the head of the Ministry of Health signed this afternoon a State agreement on the application of vaccines against Covid-19 for children, which establishes that the vaccine is voluntary and in the Schools in the Ngäbe Bugle region will only be vaccinated children who are in the company of a parent or guardian.

In the recitals of the document, it is explained that the chieftain general represents the Ngäbe Buglé people, in accordance with Law 10 of March 7, 1997 and the Organic Charter of the Ngäbe Buglé comarca, which regulates it.

In this document, signed by Ivette Berrío, Minister of Health in charge; Maruja de Villalobos, Minister of Education; and Elena Cruz Guerra, chief general of the region, indicates that the implementation of biosecurity measures and the Expanded Program of Immunizations (which includes vaccines for the prevention of all diseases) in the schools of the region is maintained.
