The National Police, through the National Directorate of Police Intelligence in the province of Chiriquí, together with the Public Ministry and Senafront units, carried out two raids on residences, located in the Baco district, Barú district, with positive results.
Commissioner Edgar González, Chief of the 4th Chiriquí Police Zone, said that the units of the Chiriquí Police Intelligence Section “DNIP” raided two residences, located in the township of Bacos, finding the location of eight firearms among them three rifles, a pistol, two shotguns, a revolver, a carbine-type long weapon, as well as three suppliers and more than 400 ammunition of different calibers, which had expired permits.
Within the raided residences, a 32-year-old citizen was apprehended, who was placed under the orders of the competent authorities for the corresponding investigations, added the head of the 4th Police zone.
So far this year, 50 firearms have been confiscated and some 23 people have been referred to the competent authorities for said crime. In the month of June, 16 weapons of different calibers have been taken off the streets.
The operational actions in the province of Chiriquí are maintained in order to continue guaranteeing the citizen security of all the residents of this region of the country.
