After a recess of 8 years, the V Meeting of the Mixed Commission of CoTechnical, Scientific and Cultural operation between the Republica of Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, within the framework of the Basic Agreement of Technical and Scientific Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Ecuador and the Government of the Dominican Republic, signed in Santo Domingo de Guzmán on August 2, 1983.
This important event allows to resume the exchange of cooperation projects between both countries. The initiatives that arethey will develop they will play topics of great tsignificance such as: agricultural production in the mountains, exchange of experiences in planning systems, support for rural women, support for the readjustment of families, as well as the promotion of public policies for the development of the border.
The inauguration and the work of the V Meeting of the Joint Commission for Technical, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation were chaired, on the Ecuadorian side, by the Undersecretary for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, Ambassador Juan Carlos Castrillon Jaramillo; and for the Dominican Party, the Vice Minister of International Cooperation, Olaya Ondina Dotel Caraballo.

Likewise, the meeting was attended by the ambassador of Ecuador in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Santiago Martínez Espíndola; the ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Ecuador, Mrs. Milady Neck Ortiz de Cabral and the Director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, Mr. José Luis Morillo Frías.
The Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also present. Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, Mrs. Lotty Andrade, the director of International Cooperation of Ecuador, Mr. Juan Manuel Escalante, the director of Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Developmentdevelopment of the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Clara Aquino, the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Ecuador, Mr. Juan Manuel Mercedes, and the person in charge of Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, Gisselle Rodríguez.
The delegations concluded that it is necessary to give priority to projectss cooperation integrals, which thave a social impact, so that they can contribute to the generation of sustainable development in favor of the well-being of the citizens of both countries.
