Argentinian airlines was awarded by the Skyteam alliance in recognition of its commitment to sustainability, after overcoming “The challenge of sustainable flight”.
In said contest, the company of air transport competed with 16 other airlines of the Skyteam alliance, and Argentinian airlines he took three awards and finished as a finalist for two others.
The awards attributed to Argentinian airlines were “Reduction of CO2 emissions on long-haul flights”, “Innovation in cargo” and “More committed professionals”.
To reduce CO2 emissions, “modifications were made in the process of loading and occupying the warehouses, making it more efficient and reducing consumption per transported ton,” according to the company.
Regarding innovation in Freight: “The Freight sector incorporated new lighter pallets, which weigh 101 kilos, against the 130 that weighed the previous ones.” This was valued by the jury of the international consulting firm Bain&Co, which determined that there is a direct impact between the reduction in weight and CO2 emissions.
For its part, the company was awarded for the commitment of its employees, since the airline stood out among the others thanks to the dialogue, disposition and dedication of its workers in each of its activities.
In addition, the airline managed to be a finalist in the categories of “Reduction of CO2 emissions in medium-haul flights” and “Reduction of CO2 emissions in short-haul flights”.

After winning three awards, the president of the companyPablo Ceriani said: “This type of recognition shows the excellent professional level that we have in Argentinian airlines and the existing commitment to international conventions, the environment and innovations in the field of sustainability”.
In total there were 14 categories in which air transport companies could compete, all related to the improvement of processes associated with the reduction of the carbon footprint and polluting materials.
