This week the Invías supplemented with 12 tolls, which are in its charge, in the vehicle electronic collection system (tolls).
(Is there a legal way to avoid paying tolls in Colombia?).
The Institute had until October 29, 2022, the maximum date stipulated by the Ministry of Transportation, to install the system in at least three of its tolls.
During the first day, more than 1,290 vehicles circulated through the 12 stations that operated simultaneously with the electronic collection system.
Given this news, the director general (e) of Invías, Guillermo Toro Acuña, declared: “From the Government of Change, we work to accelerate the commitments we have made and make Colombia a more modern and equal country for all communities. From this economic and social line, we installed the electronic collection system in 12 of the 15 tolls authorized by the Ministry of Transportation. The remaining three in which the system will be installed soon are the 2 tolls of the La Línea tunnel (Tolima and Quindío sectors) and the San Clemente tunnel, located in Caldas”.
(Transporters will ask Petro for a reduction in gasoline and tolls).
Toro Acuna added: “The system works for users who install a device in the panoramic glass of vehicles that is read by electronic collection equipment when they go through the toll. In this way, drivers travel without stopping to make the corresponding payment. It is very important to clarify that in real time the information is transmitted to the banking entity that the user enabled, with which the value of the toll is deducted from his current account, savings, credit or debit card “.
On the other hand, the 14 concession tolls that will have this system are: 3 Devisab concession tolls (Chía – Mosquera – La Mesa – Girardot), in Cundinamarca; 2 tolls for the Sabana de Occidente concession (Siberia – El Vino – Villeta), in Cundinamarca; 2 tolls of the Cartagena – Barranquilla Coastal concession, in Atlántico and Bolívar; 2 tolls of the Devimed concession (Development of Roads of Medellín), in Antioquia; 3 tolls for the Perimetral del Oriente de Bogotá concession, in Cundinamarca, and 2 tolls for the La Pintada concession, in Caldas.
