The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) will define next week the route to follow regarding the dialogue it maintains with the educational authorities in search of reaching a consensus for a salary increase for public school educators.

The president of the union that brings together teachers, Eduardo Hidalgo, said today that the National Executive Committee of the ADP will meet on Wednesday to make a decision.

Last week, the ADP He asked for three breaks in the meeting with the Minister of Education, Roberto Fulcar, to respond and analyze the salary proposal consisting of a 10% increase.

According to sources, a large part of the directors of the teachers’ union would agree to accept the offer of 10% offered by the authorities, a situation that has been creating fissures within the union.
