Prosecutor Laura Guillén carried out a first trial of a case in which a man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for committing Sexual Abuse of Children. On that occasion, the sentence was annulled for procedural reasons.
Then forwarded for a new trial in which the prosecutor Guillén was once again assigned, by the State Attorney General, Sandra Quiñónez. On that occasion, the defendant was also sentenced to 20 years in prison.

According to the account of the facts, on July 4, 2017, the 15-year-old victim was in a school in the city of Asunción and approached his partner to comment crying that her menstrual cycle was late and that she suspected she was pregnant.
The next day, the victim, back at school, approached her classmate again and told her that she wanted to tell her that she thought she was pregnant, because she had been sexually abused by her own father.
According to the victim, these abuse started when she was 9 years old and the last time her biological father sexually abused her on June 25, 2017, after her 15th birthday celebration, when she was sleeping in her room.

The partner took the victim home and together they told everything to the mother, who listened to the adolescent victim and They filed a complaint with the 3rd Metropolitan Police Station of Asunción.
Finally, the victim was taken to the Forensic Clinic of the Public Ministry, where she was inspected by the forensic doctor, Dr. Miriam Duarte.
The abuse of the adolescent by her father was verified and dates from the 9 years to the victim’s 15 yearsat which point she was coerced into intercourse.
