MIAMI, United States. – The actor and activist Daniel Triana, better known as Danielito Tri Tri, was arrested this Monday after leaving his home to show solidarity with the artivists Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara and Maykel Castillo Pérez, whom the Havana regime began to judge this 30 of May.
“Right now I have surveillance outside my house because today is the trial of Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara and Maykel Castillo,” Triana said in a live broadcast where you can see the moment in which he is intercepted by a State Security agent dressed in civilian clothes, outside his house.
“I am going to go out in solidarity with Luis and with Maykel. They deserve my solidarity for being human beings, for being Cubans, for being artists above all. To the artistic community in Cuba, this is happening. They are judging two artists for expressing themselves and for making their art, making their music, for dissenting, for disobeying, for existing,” the actor also lamented.
Likewise, he said that he hoped that the “expansive waves of solidarity” would reach both artivists of the San Isidro Movement (MSI) from “Madrid, MiamiHavana and all of Cuba”.
“They have paid dearly the price of courage, disobedience and consistency,” he said.
A moment before leaving her home, Triana assured: “I am not going to stay here with my arms crossed. Whatever it is, let them arrest me, but my heart today is with Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, with Maykel Osorbo, with that generation that wants changes and is paying dearly for it.
From that moment, Triana gave the phone to her sister, who recorded the meeting with a State Security agent.
