Abinader orders the extradition of another 2 from the DR

The Government ordered this morning the extradition of other Dominicans required by the United States District Court, for the District of Puerto Rico, accused of trafficking cocaine and marijuana.

Aris Burgos Rodríguez (the Gargoyle) and Iván Amaury Madrigal Wright (the Canillú) or (the Canilla), must answer to the US authorities for the accusations against them.

With the delivery of these two, there are five Dominicans extradited in the last 24 hours.

The provision is contained in decrees 424-22 and 425-22, dated August 4, 2022.

Yesterday, President Luis Abinader also ordered by decree the extradition of three Dominicans who were wanted by the United States for their alleged links to drug trafficking.

They were sent with some conditions from the Dominican president in case they were found guilty of the crimes they are accused of.

The measure is contained in several decrees, released yesterday afternoon by the Presidency.

The extradition of Ramona Cruz (Ramona Isabel Cruz) is contained in decree 417-22. She is charged with drug distribution, in addition to “conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, in violation of Title 21 of the United States Code, Sections 841 and 846,” the decree says.

“Said extradition is arranged under the condition that the Dominican Ramona Cruz will not be tried under any circumstances for offenses other than the one that motivates her extradition, among other conditions.
