The executive director of Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Mauricio Claver Caronemet this Tuesday afternoon with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinaderand his economic team in the National Palace.
According to Claver-Carone, the meeting was to take stock of the president’s plans to face the difficulties and the different projects in which the IDB is cooperating, such as the Port of manzanillo.
The meeting was also to support the president’s economic management, “which we have seen, obviously in difficult times, that difficult decisions have been made, but that have been of benefit to the country.”
“The Dominican economy last year was one of the fastest growing in all of Latin America and the Caribbean, more than 12 percent, and this year it is expected to be the fastest growing economy in all of Central America and the Caribbean.
“We continue to work together with the president Abinader in that and, obviously, in important projects like the Port of manzanilloa port that will be able to change the transformational panorama for the Dominican Republic and for the entire Caribbean,” said the international official upon leaving the meeting with the president at the National Palace.
