Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader left at 10:15 a.m. this Saturday for Costa Rica to participate in the official acts of the inauguration of Rodrigo Chaves Robles as president of that Central American nation.

The president left on a private flight from the terminal of the San Isidro Air Base, where he was fired by Vice President Raquel Peña, who remains in charge of the nation as acting president, and by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz. morpha; the Commander General of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic, Leonel A. Núñez Noboa.

Also Mortimel de Jesús, deputy commander of the Force, Mortimel de Jesús Eusebio; the commander of the San Isidro Air Base, Rafael Augusto Acosta Sena and the general director of the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and Civil Aviation, Carlos R. Febrillet Rodríguez.

In addition, Igor Rodríguez, Administrative Vice Minister of the Presidency.

During his official trip, the Dominican head of state is accompanied by a small delegation made up of the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; the Foreign Minister, Roberto Álvarez; the deputy head of the Presidential Security Corps, Brigadier General Jimmy Arias Grullòn, ERD; the director of the President’s Cabinet, assistants to the head of state, Eilyn Beltrán and Mercedes Pichardo, personal assistant to the president.

The official delegation is joined by the Dominican ambassador to Costa Rica, Mayerlyn Cordero, and the president’s press director, Daniel Garcia Archibald, who arrived earlier as part of the presidential advance party.

Last March, the head of the Dominican State traveled to Argentina where he signed agreements with the president of that country, Alberto Fernández. From there he left for Chile to participate in the inaugural acts of the current Chilean president, Gabriel Boric Font.

Abinader’s agenda in Costa Rica

During his stay in Costa Rica, the Dominican leader will hold bilateral meetings that will be of great importance to the country.

As part of the agenda, President Abinader is scheduled to participate in a dinner, at 7:00 p.m., in honor of the heads of State or Government attending the transition of the 2022-2026 Presidential Command, offered by the outgoing president of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada.

For this Sunday, May 8, Abinader will visit the solemn session of the transition of the Presidential Command from the positions of president and vice president of Costa Rica.

Later, he will participate in an official greeting from President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, along with other Heads of State, Government and delegations.

In the afternoon, the Dominican president will attend a reception offered by Chaves Robles in honor of the heads of delegation participating in his inauguration.

The return of President Abinader and his entourage to the country is scheduled for Sunday night at the San Isidro Air Base terminal.
