President Luis Abinader visited the southern part of the country this Saturday where he broke ground for the construction of a highway, delivered property titles to peasants and offered financing, as well as other activities.
In the Juan Santiago municipality, Elías Piña delivered 378 property title certificates to the same number of parceleros, which translates into an indirect benefit for some 3,656 people.
There, the president assured that now these people will have a new way of life and peace of mind for their families as they are the true owners of their properties.
The head of state maintained that the delivery of these titles is one of the most important public policies of the Government, and that they are also actions that fill him with satisfaction.
“The delivery of these titles is the greatest expression of social justice,” he stressed.
“Because here, with these acts in which we deliver real estate certificates to dozens of people, we show our commitment to the country, to the future and to the well-being of all citizens,” he pointed out.
Abinader affirmed that his management contemplates the delivery of 8,500 titles throughout the area of intervention of agroforestry projects.
Beneficiaries
An audiovisual was presented at the event in which the beneficiaries expressed the peace of mind that comes from knowing that they have a legal instrument that opens their doors to financing.
They highlighted that it is the first time that a president has come to this community to hand over the documents that accredit them as owners of the land on which they work.
“That means a lot of good things because our children and grandchildren are not going to have to work so hard,” they said.
The favored José Encarnación, Francisco Peralta and Rosa Montero, agreed to point out that with these documents a new way of life comes to them.
They thanked President Luis Abinader for making the title a reality and wished him a long life so that he could continue with this work for the benefit of all producers in the country.
Execution
On his side, Mérid de Jesús Torres Espinal, director of the Executing Technical Unit for State Land Titling, said that the work carried out by the Executing Technical Unit, together with the Executing Technical Unit for Agroforestry Development (UTEPDA) and the Dominican Agrarian Institute , covered a total geographic area of 6,815,329.29 square meters.
Highway
Before the delivery of the titles, President Abinader, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, started construction work on the highway that connects El Cercado-Juan Santiag-Hondo Valle, in Elías Piña.
During his visit to that place, the head of state inaugurated the Santiago Apóstol Church.
In his intense agenda at Elías Piña, Abinader granted loans to entrepreneurs through the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) and then held a lunch with producers from Hondo Valle, Rancho de la Guardia and Juan Santiago. The activity took place at the Casa Club la Frontera.
