Abinader highlights a projection of US$3.5 billion in foreign investments for the DR in 2022

Los Angeles California. – President Louis Abinader he said in the framework of the activities that are taking place in Los Angeles, within the IX Summit of the Americas, when answering questions to the national and international press present there, that the large projection of the Dominican Republic’s capture of foreign investments for this 2022 could exceed the figure of 3,500 million dollars.

“Even in the situations we are in, there is a good time in terms of investment due to the conditions offered by our country,” he pointed out, also noting that this amount would exceed that of 2021, which reached 3 billion dollars, maintaining leadership in the region.

These statements came after a fruitful presentation before the business event held within the framework of the Summit, in which President Luis Abinader with the other presidents of the Alliance for Development in Democracy, which make up the Dominican Republic, Panama and Costa Rica.

As a result, the president described this Alliance as “very positive in all areas” and various investments between the aforementioned nations and the use of synergies at the regional level are being evaluated.

Likewise, the head of state visited the facilities of the North American company SpaceX, whose satellite internet services division called Starlink, presented a request to offer its services in the country, thus strengthening foreign investments in the Dominican Republic in terms of technology.

When the permit is approved, our country would become the first in the Caribbean to have this low-cost internet service for remote communities and would be the fourth in Latin America.

In addition, the President and his entourage received explanations from SpaceX executives about their space program and took a tour of the Falcon 9 rocket manufacturing plant.

The president was accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mypimes, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó; the director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro; Representing the company were José Alfredo Rizek, legal advisor for the Dominican Republic; Katrina Hasse, Market Access Manager for Latin America and Dr. Samuel (Chad) Gibbs IV, Vice President of Operations.
