Abinader dismisses Elsa de León, governor of Samaná

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, dismissed the governor of Samaná, Elsa de León. This, by decree number 704-21 dated today.

What is established by the Executive comes after de León issued statements regarding the people who in the province of their competence have not been vaccinated against the covid.

“The religious sect, I don’t know what they preach, I invite you to change your attitude (…). I do not understand what is the refusal of certain people who, not only do not want to be vaccinated, but also run a negative campaign so that people do not get vaccinated (…). I am one of those who say that for every death from now on, from COVID, that has not been vaccinated, I am going to have a party, “said the governor in a video that was published on social networks.

In that sense, he urged people who have not yet been inoculated against the virus to go to vaccination centers.

Until last October 19 of this year, Samaná has remained one of the districts with the lowest vaccination rate with the first and second doses.
