Santiago.- The presidential candidate of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Abel Martinezreceived support described as “forceful and tremendous” in his hometown, where thousands of supporters of constituency one expressed their support.
“I am more than grateful to you, to the leadership of the PLD, to the members of the Central Committee, to the deputies, to the aldermen, to those generals with troops that we call intermediary presidents. Grateful to the mayors, directors and members of our party. Today I did not come to give a speech; I came to thank you,” said Abel.
The senior leader defined his supporters as “warriors and gladiators made me a deputy in 2002, in 2006 and in 2010; who made me mayor in 2016 and 2020, and today they are here showing their support to become the next president of the Dominican Republic, along with the rest of the country.’
“The PLD is back; a renewed PLD, a PLD full of learning, full of commitment, enthusiasm, energy, because definitely those who govern today from the National Palace, came and raised the food; crime is covering the Dominican Republic, but it is also an indolent government that does not care about children, youth; he doesn’t care about women, he doesn’t care about the productive sectors and much less about the working family men who don’t have anything to take the three of them hot to their house and that’s why in 2024 they’re going to go”, Abel said to cheers from the crowd present.

The presidential candidate assured that he is a man of results and “just as I have shown results in constituency one, as I showed results when I was a prosecutor, when I was a deputy and president of the Chamber of Deputies, that is how we have done as mayor, turning Santiago into the cleanest, most orderly city, a municipal model in the country, in Latin America and the Caribbean. And I tell you: get ready, because starting in 2024 every Dominican will feel proud to have me as their president.”
“I believe in the Dominican woman, I believe in the working man, in the youth with the desire to move forward, I believe in single mothers who need the hand of the government and the helping hand to raise their children; I believe in the men of the countryside, in the professionals, in children in the elderly, and all my effort, my affection, my love, my experience, my will, my enthusiasm, is for every Dominican,” Abel said.
At the end of his words, Abel Martínez recalled that he was in the Palace of Justice as a prosecutor and in the Palace of Congress as a legislator, “I am in the Municipal Palace as mayor and I tell you: accompany me so that together, with all Dominicans of good will , in good faith that we are in the National Palace from 2024, for the good of all Dominicans. Long live the Dominican Republic, long live the PLD, long live Professor Juan Bosch!”
