Mario Abdo Benítez, President of the Republic, held a meeting this Wednesday in Mburuvicha Róga with the security team to learn about the murder of Marcelo Pecci, a prosecutor specializing in the fight against organized crime.
The attack took place yesterday, Tuesday, on a beach on Isla Barú, in Cartagena de Indias, where he was on his honeymoon with his wife.
“We regret what happened yesterday, we condemn that fact and we reaffirm the Government’s will to combat organized crime head-on,” said Federico González, Minister of the Interior, at a press conference from Mburuvicha Róga.
At the same time, he highlighted the work carried out between Paraguay, Colombia and other friendly nations to clarify the crime.
