The Valparaíso Cybercrime Investigation Brigade, together with the Valparaíso Local Prosecutor’s Office, arrested a 57-year-old man for storing child pornographic material and planning the sexual abuse of a minor. The defendant already had a police record for the same crime and previous ones.
A man is arrested in Valparaíso for storing child pornography and planning sexual abuse of a minor
The Valparaíso Prosecutor’s Office and the PDI worked together to arrest a 57-year-old man for his responsibility in the flagrant crime of Acquisition and Storage of child pornographic material. The case began in 2021 for the crime of Production of Child Pornographic Material of the Local Prosecutor’s Office of Viña del Mar.
The defendant contacted two other men through the WhatsApp and Telegram platforms, with whom he exchanged child pornographic material. In addition, the three tried to arrange a meeting to be part of the sexual abuse of a child under 4 years of age. Thanks to the investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office, it was possible to establish the crimes committed by those involved.
The Valparaíso Prosecutor’s Office and the specialized brigade of the PDI managed an Entry and Search and Seizure Order for the defendant’s home, located in Playa Ancha. The results obtained from the review of different computer devices owned by him, through the use of forensic equipment and software, made it possible to determine that he kept different audiovisual files where minors are observed being sexually violated by adults.
The accused was made available to the Valparaíso Guarantee Court to be formalized for the crimes committed. The other two subjects involved in the crimes had already been prosecuted and are currently serving their sentence.
