“We want to review in depth the access to Montevideo through the Interbalnearia route that has a conflictCertainly for many years. We talked and talked and there have been no concrete actions,” the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, José Luis Falero, said on Tuesday during the lunch organized by the Association of Marketing Managers.
The minister said that perhaps before the end of the year a concrete project will be presented “to improve mobility in that area”.
Falero said that an alternative that is on the table is to build a fast track.
According to the minister, This expressway could be used for traffic that travels to the eastern resorts located beyond the Solís stream. Meanwhile, the rest of the traffic that circulates to resorts on the Gold Coast would continue using the current route, but “with less pressure”as the traffic is redistributed.
“I would dare to say that it is what I like the most (on the fast track). Perhaps it can give us greater security and not continue insisting on a national route that is in an urban area, which is what should never have happened in Uruguay. (…) We see an opportunity that is not very expensive, ”she assured.
Falero preferred not to give more details about this alternative, which he said is a joint initiative between the ministry and the concessionaire of the Interbalnearia route.
After lunch and consulted at a press conference, he stated: “A new layout is being sought in rural areas, which does not interfere with the urban.”

-It may be, perhaps some part of Route 34 can touch. It is something still very incipient. In 15 days they will bring me a proposal, she replied.
The minister added that the first objective is to have projects elaborated and technically discussed, so that the new administration can execute them in the future.
