Ceballos evaluated strategies with 149 directors of police forces

The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, held a meeting with 149 directors of the country’s police agencies and reported this through his Twitter account.

Ceballos described as “fruitful” the meeting held yesterday in the multipurpose room of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian National Guard, located in Fuerte Tiuna, “leveraged in the 4th line of work of President Nicolás Maduro, to guarantee life and the peace of the Venezuelan people”.

“We are moving forward to consolidate the nation’s comprehensive security and guarantee justice, leveraged by the Great Peace Quadrants Mission,” Ceballos wrote, alluding to the event where 23 state police directors, 94 municipal police officers and 31 heads of coordination centers of the police were present. Bolivarian National Police.

During the day, the point related to the reports that police directors send to the Ministry of the Interior on a daily basis was addressed. In this sense, the Minister criticized the existence of “zero-filled” reports.

“When we analyze these reports, we see that they come from areas that have high crime rates,” said the Minister, according to witnesses. “It cannot be possible that a police force does not have a positive record of apprehension or seizure of firearms or blades, illegal substances, etc.,” he said.

Good practices

Minister Ceballos explained that the meeting “seeks to guarantee the provision of the police service; ensure its performance in the field of Human Rights and promote good practices. The theme of the 13th Good Police Practices contest was touched upon.

Job applications will be until next Sunday, May 14. Each police force must apply for at least one project that includes the innovation carried out by the police “in favor of security, in guarantee of life and peace of the people of Venezuela.”

Another point addressed during the working day was that of the disciplinary investigations open to police officers involved in misdemeanors.

In this sense, it was clarified that the directors of the police forces have disciplinary co-responsibility in police management. In this regard, they established that the decisions of the Disciplinary Council are mandatory for the directors of each police force.

The disciplinary councils are contemplated in the Law of the Statute of the Police Function and their main mission is to decide if an anomalous situation qualifies to dismiss or not a police officer. In 2021, 32 disciplinary councils were formed, made up of three main citizens and their three substitutes, according to Official Gazette No. 42,043 of 01/08/2021.
