The death of Cuban doctor Pablo Corrales Susi, murdered in Havana allegedly to take away his motorcycle, was confirmed this Friday by family and friends, who also reported that the Police found his body. The doctor was reported missing after several days without being located.
The Cuban authorities have not offered an official version of the events and have not reported whether the alleged perpetrators have been captured. It has been his relatives, such as the Internet user Michaela Díaz García, who have detailed that the last time they saw Corrales alive was last Monday and since then they have not been able to locate him.
Corrales Susi, 53, worked at the Cristóbal Labra polyclinic, in the Havana municipality of La Lisa. According to Díaz García, his body showed multiple wounds and stab wounds. “The search, uncertainty and hope are over,” wrote Dennese Guerra González, who said that the motive for the homicide is still being investigated and assured that the colleagues from the polyclinic and the Municipal Health Directorate “join the pain of their parents.”
Netizens were outraged and criticized the authorities’ delay in beginning an investigation. “If you’re in trouble, they won’t help you, but if you shout ‘Patria, Vida y Libertad’, at once you have the Police on you. A failed Cuba State,” says another comment.
