The director of the General Office of Socio-environmental Affairs of the Minam, Carlos Eyzaguirre, reported that the environmental impact study (EIA) of the Las Bambas mining project contains obligations that are supervised by the Agency for Environmental Assessment and Enforcement (OEFA).
In this framework, the specialized agency of the Ministry of the Environment (Minam) has carried out 33 environmental supervisions to this mining unit to date.
In addition, it indicates that there are other commitments as part of the social relationship between the company and the communities of the district of Coyllurqui, province of Cotabambas, Apurímac region.

In this sense, Eyzaguirre said that the Minam participates as coordinator of the working subgroup between the peasant community of Huancuire and the Las Bambas mining company, a space that was installed last week with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Presidency of the Council. of Ministers.
These actions were addressed during the seventh session and decentralized public hearing in Apurímac, developed by the Commission of Andean, Amazonian and Afro-Peruvian Peoples, Environment and Ecology of the Congress of the Republic, in the town of Huancuire.
During the meeting, issues of social, economic and environmental problems were addressed in the communities in the area of influence of Las Bambas mining exploitation.
