CAASD improves water supply by solving more than 6,000 breakdowns in the first six months of the year

Santo Domingo. – The Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD) corrected more than 6,300 faults during the first half of 2022, significantly improving the supply of drinking water in Greater Santo Domingo.

This was reported by the general director of the institution, engineer Felipe Suberví, who stressed that the population of the National District and the province of Santo Domingo has been able to experience improvement in service, thanks to the permanent work of the CAASD brigades that have achieved reduce the losses of the precious liquid, benefiting thousands of families.

“Our brigades work permanently 24 hours a day, seven days a week in order to avoid wasting water due to problems in the pipes and transmission lines, which has made it possible to make the service more efficient for the population of Greater Santo Domingo. ”, stated the official.

Suberví explained that in the period between January and June a total of 6,328 breakdowns were resolved in the different sectors of the demarcation.

He explained that in the month of January 1,135 were repaired; in February 989, March 1,080, while in April 858, in May 1,138 and in June 1,133.

The head of the CAASD pointed out that within the sectors intervened by the brigades of the state entity, San Carlos stands out; The Renaissance; Gazcue; Villa Juana; Faith; The Million; Palace of Engombe; Bayonne; Popcorn; Tropical urbanization; Invi North and Los Olivos de Herrera

Also, Alma Rosa I and II; Katanga; The Mina; City Juan Bosch; The Guaricanos; Villa Consuelo; Guachupita; Housing; Ozama Gardens; The Admiral and the Olympic Village.

He also explained that during these six months the CAASD carried out cleaning work on the sanitary sewer line, as well as internal and external records, as well as repairs to sanitary connections and correction of non-visible leaks.

Suberví highlighted that the entity’s teams carry out tasks to optimize the drinking water distribution network.

He reiterated the call to the population to make a rational and responsible use of water.
