Great police deployment in Bayamo to avoid another "Homeland and Life" about a PCC cartel

Great police deployment in Bayamo to avoid another "Homeland and Life" about a PCC cartel

Very few managed to see the “Patria y Vida” painted with tar over the “Patria o Muerte, ¡Venceremos!” that, together with the smiling image of Fidel Castro and the Cuban flag in the background, occupied almost the entire gigantography of about ten meters long and more than three high, in a busy corner of Bayamo. The fence with the anti-Castro proclamation was quickly covered and then removed, before being replaced by an identical one this Saturday.

The continuous blackouts in the capital of the province of Granma led to the appearance of the opposition motto in the central intersection of Zenea and Perucho Figueredo streets last Monday, July 5.

All week the streets have been guarded at night by groups of more than five uniformed men, plainclothes agents and workers concentrated in their workplaces, ready to intervene in the face of any other attempt at graphic protest.

Special vigilance is maintained on the fences located in central places such as the Plaza de la Patria, parks and walls in public places

Special vigilance is maintained on the billboards located in central places such as the Plaza de la Patria, parks and walls in public places that can serve as canvases to express popular discontent exacerbated by the endless blackouts that the Bayamese population has been suffering.

However, as if to demonstrate that at least one institution in the municipality is capable of functioning efficiently and quickly, this Saturday a new billboard was placed exactly the same as the previous one and some workers were doing some beautification works in the immediate environment.

It is not yet known if the authorities have seized an alleged graffiti artist, but the motorcycles of the Ministry of the Interior move restlessly through the streets of Bayamo, groups of very serious and silent young people appear posted at night on any corner and the Electric Company does what possible by not interrupting its service during the early mornings.
