The Ministry of Health (Ssa) confirmed for the third consecutive day record numbers in COVID-19 infections: 32,295 cases in the last 24 hours. However, deaths, in which an increase of 48 is reported, for a cumulative total of 325,976, have not risen to the same extent as infections.
The Mexican federal agency indicated that active cases (that is, with transmission capacity) increased to 195,641, with an incidence rate of 150.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.
It also maintains that the upward trend in the hospital occupancy rate continues. It went from 10 percentage points last Monday to 13% today, Thursday. In the case of beds with a ventilator, intended for critically ill patients, the demand remains at 3%.
The daily average of cases per week continues to rise. The Ssa reported 19,284 from June 26 to July 2. This represents an increase of 3,563 daily infections compared to the period from June 19 to 25.
The states with the highest number of active cases are Mexico City, Baja California Sur, Quintana Roo, Colima, Sinaloa, Yucatán, Querétaro, Nuevo León, Nayarit and Tabasco.
