Live: the mega-work of the Vía al Llano premieres

This July 7, the Vial Andina Concessionaire will deliver the new road for the Bogotá-Villavicencio highway. Specifically, the Chirajara-Founders road.

A project financed 100 percent by private resources and that marks a new milestone in this corridor. This roadway, which includes 32.9 kilometers of constructed works, is the last section of the road to the Llano, which connects Bogotá with Villavicencio (Meta) and significantly reduces travel times.

The road to the plain It is made up of three sections: the existing carriageway between Usme and the Boquerón tunnel, the dual carriageway between El Tablón and Chirajara and the dual carriageway between Chirajara and Los Fundadores. This last section was built between 2016 and 2022 by the Andean Road Concessionaire (Coviandina), which has also been in charge of the operation and maintenance of the Llano road since 2019, through contract 005.

The schedule for this mega-project in the middle of the Eastern mountain range indicated that the work would end at the end of 2022; however, the techniques used in the construction of bridges and tunnels allowed the works to be completed earlier and this week they will be delivered for the service of Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Llaneros and all Colombians who, for work, tourism or business reasons, must travel between Villavicencio and Bogotá.
