COVID-19: Mexico breaks record of cases and deaths

The highest number of cases reported in the last month corresponds to Saturday, July 2, when the number rose to 23,610. Meanwhile, this is the first time, since the daily report returned, that deaths have exceeded the 69 mark.

Since the beginning of the pandemic and to date, 6 million 121,808 cases and 325,868 deaths have been reported due to the virus.

The SSa detailed that the majority of infections occur among women, with an incidence of 52.5%; however, at 62%, deaths are more common among the male population.

In the last five weeks, most of the cases are present in the groups of 18 to 29 years, followed by the group of 30 to 39 years and 40 to 49 years.

As of today’s information cutoff, there are 162,261 active cases registered, that is, they presented symptoms in the last 14 days.

In addition, the health agency indicates that there are 13,959 deaths suspected of COVID-19, including those pending by laboratory and those in the process of epidemiological association.

The entities with the most accumulated confirmed cases are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco, Veracruz, Puebla and Sonora, which together make up 65% of all accumulated cases registered in Mexico. the country.
