MIAMI, United States.- The former Costa Rican deputy and president of the Hemispheric Front for Freedom, Dragos Dolanescu, drew attention in a video released this Tuesday about the death of several of the highest Cuban military during the last year.
Dolanescu explained that analyzing “what is happening in our American hemisphere”, in each of the countries, the Hemispheric Front for Freedom has called “powerfully the attention”, that in 12 months 23 high-ranking military officials have died on the island.
“Specifically after the peaceful protests of the Cuban people on July 11,” in which the demonstrators demanded their freedom, he said, “23 generals and other ranks, Cuban military personnel have begun to die like the plague.”
The former deputy questioned what is happening “inside the Castro-communist regime. What is happening with these soldiers, why are they dying?
“It’s very strange, and if I were a military man in Cuba I would be very afraid,” he said, “the next one could be you.”
Independent news media began to notice with distrust that after the massive protests that took place in more than 60 locations in the country on Sunday, July 11, 2021, several generals of the Castro leadership died, some within a few days of each other.
On August 10, 2021, a month after 11J, eight generals, colonels and other military ranks had died in Cuba. The figure continued to rise.
The first died just under a week after the protests. Agustín Peña Pórrez, head of the Eastern Army, Division General and Member of the Central Committee since April 2021, died at the age of 58 on July 18, 2021.
The last was Major General Luis Alberto Rodriguez Lopez-Callejaexecutive president of the Business Administration Group of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (GAESA), and former son-in-law of Raúl Castro.
López-Calleja, a member of the Political Bureau, deputy to the National Assembly and advisor to Miguel Díaz-Canel, died last Friday, July 1, according to official media, as a result of a cardiorespiratory arrest.
