Despite the tie, Raposa managed to extend the advantage over vice-leader Vasco, who has 31 points, to seven points. Ituano already reached 18 points.
Cruzeiro even opened the scoring in the 44th minute of the first half with forward Edu, but the referee, with the help of VAR (video referee), ended up canceling the bid. The decision was much contested by the players of the Minas Gerais team.
But in the 9th minute of the second half there was no way, Luvannor received on the right wing, advanced to the baseline and crossed to the middle of the area, where the ball ended up deflecting on Rafael Pereira and Pegorari before dying in the back of the goal.
At 15 minutes it seemed that Raposa’s mission would become simpler, as defender Lucas Dias ended up being sent off after a foul on Daniel Júnior. But Ituano was brave and didn’t give up, and managed to get the tie in the 33rd minute with Bernardo Schappo.
