President Alberto Fernández promulgated this Monday afternoon at Casa Rosada the Tax Relief Law for Small Taxpayers and the Self-Employed, which It will benefit 4.5 million monotributistas and 140,000 self-employed.
The president, accompanied by the Minister of Security, Aníbal Fernández, signed the promulgation decree in his office at Government House, after the meeting he held with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, and the deputies of the Front of All (FdT) Germán Martínez -head of the block-, Cecilia Moreau, Paula Penacca, Leandro Santoro, Eduardo Valdés and Tanya Bertoldi.
The measure, which will take effect from this monthwill update the billing of monotributistas to prevent them from having to change categories and pay higher fees, and will also increase the deductions from Earnings paid by employees enrolled in the self-employed category.
The six-monthly recategorization will be enabled from July 11 to 29while the due date for the payment of the monthly obligation will be extended to July 27, official sources reported.
The extension of the maximum billing limits per category of the monotax will have a progressive orientation, which will privilege people registered in the lowest categories by allowing them to be able to bill up to 60% more.
In this sense, the rule provides for the exemption from the tax component for 1.7 million people registered in categories A and B who do not receive other income (for example, do not have a job in a dependency relationship or receive a pension).
On the other hand, tax relief also includes increased deductions of the self-employed workers who pay the Income Tax.
The law increased the special deduction from two to 2.5 times and, in this way, will reduce the tax burden, benefiting workers with incomes of up to eight million pesos, which account for 95% of the self-employed reached by the tax.
The norm, promoted by Massa, obtained legislative sanction unanimously the last Thursday in the Senate and in the same way it was approved on June 15 in the Lower House.
