In the letter, the Agtsyp board reported: “We have been summoned to a first formal audience with the Buenos Aires Labor Undersecretariat to discuss future working conditions of the workers’ union in Buenos Aires. subway and premetro under the context of the post pandemic ”.
In addition, they add: “For this reason and as a clear sign of our willingness to dialogue, we decided to raise underground and premetro transportation scheduled for Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.”.
What does the union union demand
One of the main requests that the Agtsyp will put on the dialogue table will be the “reduction of six hours to the weekly working day of the workers of the subway and premetro“, which would go from 36 to 30 hours per week, according to the Télam agency.
However, this request has already been rejected and classified as “unfeasible” by the company Emova Movilidad SA, in charge of the operations of the six lines of the Buenos Aires subway.
The day before, the company highlighted that a possible decrease in the working hours of the workers of the subway and premetro “It could directly affect the operation of the transport system” and, therefore, would harm users.
