the american airline American Airlines requested permission to, starting next November, schedule new flights between Miami International Airport and five Cuban cities. The request takes advantage of the recent repeal of restrictions imposed by the Trump administration.

If that plan is finalized, point to a note from the official website Cubadebate that American Airlines would reach 12 flights a day between Miami and several cities in Cuba, since so far it has six daily flights operating that cover the route between Miami and the José Martí international airport in Havana.

The routes would be between Miami and the Frank País international airport, in Holguín; the Juan Gualberto Gómez international airport, in Varadero; the Abel Santamaría international airport, in Villa Clara, the Ignacio Agramonte international airport, in Camagüey and the Antonio Maceo international airport, in the eastern province Santiago de Cuba.

According to the report, American Airlines would use 172-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft with three classes, 16 executive seats, 30 additional seats in the main cabin and 126 economy seats to cover the new routes to Santa Clara, Holguín and Varadero.

For the flights to Camagüey and Santiago de Cuba, the selected model will be the Airbus A319 with 128 seats, three classes with eight executive seats, 24 additional seats in the main cabin and 96 economic seats, the media outlet specifies.

According to the Cuban media, currently American Airlines, JetBlue and Southwest Airlines are the only commercial airlines that schedule flights to Havana, with 91 weekly frequencies between the United States and Cuba and 13 daily flights.
