Aneel auctions 13 lots of power transmission

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) carried out today (30) an auction for the construction, operation and maintenance of 5,425 kilometers of transmission lines and 6,180 mega-volt-ampere (MVA) in substation transformation capacity. The auction was divided into 13 lots, with planned investments of around R$ 15.3 billion and generation of 31,697 direct jobs in 13 states: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia.Aneel auctions 13 lots of power transmission

The transmission facilities are part of the Investment Partnerships Program of the Presidency of the Republic.

The companies that win the auction will have to complete the works between 42 and 60 months, counted from the signing of the contracts. The concession period for the lines will be 30 years.

The global value of the reference Allowed Annual Revenue (maximum RAP) to be paid to entrepreneurs is approximately R$ 2.2 billion.

The deputy director general of Aneel, Camila Bonfim, said that the success of the auction was possible because there is a safe and attractive environment for investments in the electricity sector, built over years with well-structured governance, legal certainty, stability and regulatory predictability.

“We work with regulations that encourage competition and innovation to ensure quality service and fair fares. We will continue with this purpose, which has resulted in the success of transmission auctions”, he guaranteed.

The deputy secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, José Roberto Bueno Júnior, stated that the works granted today will significantly contribute to the continuity of the reliable operation of the National Interconnected System, promoting adequate supply to energy consumers in the country, always in line with the search for reasonable tariffs in the indication of new expansion solutions.

“The auctioned expansions today are relevant because they will also open the connection margin for renewable generation projects in the state of Minas Gerais, whose potential for photovoltaic energy has proved to be viable and with beneficial use for the Brazilian electrical system”, he highlighted.

The winner of Lot 1, which has a length of 1,269 km and a power of 1,350 MVA, covering cities in the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, with the aim of expanding the transmission capacity of the Northern Region of Minas Gerais, was Consórcio Verde, for the amount of R$283.3 million, with a discount of 47.34% over the RAP of R$538,002,334.19.

The winner of Lot 2 was NeoEnergia. In this lot, the extension is 1,707 km, in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, with the purpose of expanding the transmission capacity of the northern region of Minas Gerais. The amount offered was R$360 million, which represents a discount of 50.33% over the reference value of R$724,733,986.08.

Lot 3 was sold for R$285.7 million, with a discount of 46.7% over the RAP of R$536,601,473.45, by CTEEP. The extension of this lot is 1,139 km, in the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, with the purpose of expanding the transmission capacity of the northern region of Minas Gerais.

Lot 4, which has an extension of 217 km, in the state of Amapá, aims to provide a structural solution to increase the reliability of service to Macapá, was sold for R$ 38.893 million by Zopone Engenharia e Comércio LTDA. The discount in relation to the RAP (R$ 40,940,124.37) reached 5%.

With an extension of 113 km, Lot 5, which covers the states of Bahia and Sergipe, was acquired by the consortium Sterlite Brazil Participações for R$ 22 million, with a discount of 26.52% in relation to the reference value of R$ 29,941. 042.18. The purpose of this lot is to increase the transmission capacity and service to loads in the state of Sergipe.

Lot 6, with a capacity of 600 MVA, in the municipality of Guarulhos, in São Paulo, was sold for R$ 13.4 million to CTEEP, with a discount of 59.21% in relation to the reference value of R$ 32,932. 281.21.

Lot 7, which should meet the load growth in the Southeast region of Pará, with a capacity of 450 MVA, was purchased by Consórcio Engie Brasil Transmissão, for R$ 6,484,596.00, which represents a discount of 59.9% in relation to the RAP of BRL 16,171,062.27

Lot 8, with an extension of 11 km, in Rondônia, with the purpose of integrating Humaitá to the SIN, increasing the service capacity of the Porto Velho region, went to the company Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil, which paid R$ 12,252. 258.58. The discount was 38.57% in relation to the RAP of R$ 19,946,015.82.

Lot 9, which spans 505 km in Mato Grosso and Pará, to supply the regions of Cláudia and Novo Progresso and has a reference value of BRL 130,666,279.71, was purchased by Sterlite Brazil Participações for BRL 87.6 million, with a discount of 32.96%.

The winner of Lot 10, with an extension of 159 km, in Santa Catarina, for electrical service to the Western Region of the State of Santa Catarina and Southeast Region, as well as guaranteeing voltage control in the São Paulo System, was Taesa with the value of R$18.7 million, which generated a discount of 47.96% over the reference value, which was R$36,104,540.82.

Lot 11, with an extension of 291 km in Mato Grosso do Sul, with a capacity of 300 MVA, was purchased for R$ 38.2 million by Neoenergia SA. In relation to the reference value of R$70,406,099.76, the discount was 45.74%.

Lot 12, with an extension of 13 km and serving the metropolitan region of Manaus, in Amazonas, and a reference value of R$ 32,306,394.47, was won by Energisa Transmissão de Energia, for the amount of R$ 17.6 million , with a discount of 45.26%.

Lot 13, located in Acre, was won for R$ 22.4 million. In this case, in which the purpose is voltage control in the electrical system of the state of Acre, the reference value was R$ 32,500,233.13 and the discount was 31%, offered by Consórcio Norte.
