The National Highway Company (ENA), reported a few days ago that it will sanction the users of the corridors who are delinquent with the Panapass payments.
ENA’s Operations and Corporate Communications Manager, Dianeth Cupas, explained that the debt amounts to more than $ 6 million and is caused by only 10% of the users that transit through the South, North and East Corridors of the city.
“Our park of users is 534 thousand cars, of which only 10% is causing this debt, which means that it is the same group as always and during the pandemic it increased,” he said.
He explained that telephone lines have been opened for people to make payment arrangements, through number 192. Each case is studied in a special way and a fee is adjusted according to the ability to pay of each individual.
Cupas specified that currently the barriers that are located in each booth are left down for 15 seconds and a message is sent to the user indicating that they are low on balance and must be updated. “What we will do soon is that the barrier will not be opened and the user will not be allowed to enter,” he said.
He reminded citizens that for passing without a balance in each booth a fine of $ 10 is credited, which is regulated under the Transit and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT).
The sanctions that will be applied will be through operations in conjunction with the competent authorities.
