Valeria Rodríguez, ex-wife of a former Santa Cruz mayor’s office, revealed that former mayor Angélica Sosa tried to bribe her in exchange for her silence, within the corruption case that includes 800 “ghost items” created in that institution.

“I have audio evidence and she knows very well the threat she made to me. He wanted to offer me money, I’m not selling myself, he wanted to pay me for the house at that time and a lot of other things, ”Rodríguez said yesterday, in contact with Unitel.

The case of the “ghost items” splashes Parada and other officials such as Javier Carrasco Montero, Javier Cedeño and Julio Herbas, who are accused of alleged illicit enrichment, favoring illicit enrichment, improper use of influence and embezzlement, according to El Deber .

The complainant challenged the former interim mayor of the Santa Cruz capital to contact her again to repeat her alleged offer and intimidation.

“I am grateful to all of them, who in a certain way have given me a shield to move forward,” she said.

However, he pointed out that Percy Fernández has nothing to do with the accusation and that the person involved “is directly Mrs. Angélica Sosa.”

Rodríguez had to appear before the Public Ministry to testify, however, his hospitalization prevented him from reaching the judicial authorities. He assures that his legs do not respond normally and that it was not possible to leave in an ambulance.

The woman made the complaint in which the operation of an alleged corruption network used for the illicit enrichment of former workers of the Santa Cruz municipal institution was uncovered.

According to current management authorities, it is presumed that these people operated for more than 10 years, during the administration of former mayor Percy Fernández and former president of the Council and interim mayor Sosa.

It is suspected that forms were set up with 800 “phantom items” to obtain resources illegally, by collecting salaries from non-existent positions.
