The director of Health Logistics of the Social Security Institute (IPS), José Sánchez, admitted that there are some missing items in the stock of medicines, but blamed suppliers.
In this way, he clarified to 1000 AM that the shortage is due to a contractual breach by the suppliers and pointed out that the pertinent actions are already being carried out to regularize the situation.
In this sense, he mentioned that the relevant claim has already been made to some of the awarded companies and stressed that others have even been subject to sanctions.
On the other hand, the high-ranking IPS official confirmed that the institution recently received a batch of 500,000 anti-flu units, medicines that are immediately being distributed to the different peripheral dependencies.
“Until last month, the supplier company was complying normally, so that was regularized again yesterday, and with this important load we already proceeded immediately to the distribution both in the central area and in the interior”, he specified.
