Cuba reported 21 infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus on Tuesday the 15th, according to the new summary on the epidemiological situation issued today by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap). Active cases totaled 96.
Four provinces (Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus, Granma and Guantánamo) were free of new infections, while Havana (five) was the territory with the highest number of reported infections. The rest remained between three and one case.
During the day, 3997 samples were processed, with a positivity of 0.5%.
Of the positive samples, 16 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases and in five individuals the origin of the infection was located outside the country.

By age, the group made up of those under 20 years of age had seven patients; five correspond to the range of between 20 and 39 years old, three to the group of 40 to 59 years old while six added those over 60.
According to the MINSAP, 17 clinical discharges were notified and the number of people admitted as a result of COVID-19 closed at 961. Only one person remained in intensive care reported in serious condition.
The fatalities of COVID-19 continue to add up to 8,529.
