Santo Domingo.- The stage is set for the elections to be held this Wednesday by the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) to elect its rector for a new period of four years, in a scenario that faces Editrudis Beltran Y George Ashjana.
The Electoral Commission, led by Enerio Rodríguez, reported that 3,215 people are eligible to vote for the contest, of which 2,372 will do so at the UASD headquarters and 843 at the campus of said academy, located in Santiago de Los Caballeros, Barahona, San Francisco de Macorís and San Juan de la Maguana.

This Tuesday, several campaign houses installed outside the university campus were observed, where supporters of Asjana and Beltrán carried flags and posters promoting both candidates.
“We are ready for the battle this Tuesday, we are going to win as the polls that have been conducted so far indicate,” said a woman, who identified herself as a Beltrán follower.
Voting will begin at 8:00 in the morning and will end at 8:00 at night, according to the agenda established by the Electoral Commission. The winner will replace the current rector, Enma Polanco.
