Also according to Abear, the offer, calculated in available seat kilometers (ASK), had a reduction of 5.8% in the same comparison. The average aircraft occupancy rate was 78.4%, a reduction of 3.5 percentage points. In total, 6.1 million passengers were transported, a decrease of 16.2% compared to the same month in 2019.
In the international market, demand (RPK) fell by 34.2% and supply (ASK) registered a reduction of 33.9% compared to April 2019. The aircraft utilization was 83.9%, a reduction of 0 .4 percentage point. The total number of passengers transported reached 1.1 million, a decrease of 39.4%.
According to the association, the comparison of operating results in the domestic market between April and March showed a drop of 7.1% in demand (RPK) and 5.9% (ASK) in supply. The average occupancy rate of planes dropped by 1 percentage point. In the international market, demand (RPK) grew 5.4% and supply (ASK) dropped 1.8% in the same comparisons.
The air transport of cargo and mail registered a reduction of 11.3% in April compared to April 2019. In the international market, there was an increase of 12.7% in the same comparison.
