Less than a year after the change of government, the official bench Free Peru has lost more than 50% of its members. The parliamentary group began the period with 37 congressmen in its ranks. However, with the passing of the months, this number was decreasing, so it ceased to be the bench with the greatest representation.
The last casualty of the political group was made by the parliamentarian Jose Maria Balcazarwho submitted his irrevocable resignation to the perulibrista spokesman, Waldemar Cerrónthis Wednesday 8 to join a new bench: Peru Bicentennial.
In this way, Peru Libre has already fragmented into four parliamentary groups that, although they affirm they will continue to support the same ideology and work for the population, now have other priority projects on their agenda.

Free Peru
The pro-government caucus began its administration with more than 30 legislators. Today it only has 16 parliamentarians. The first quitter was William Bermejowho decided to withdraw from the government party after more than half of his bench did not support the motion of censure that he presented against the President of Congress, Maria del Carmen Alva.
In that sense, the Secretary General of Free Peru, Vladimir Cerrónhas commented on several occasions that the resignations do not affect the consolidation of the parliamentary group.
Likewise, Peru Libre is on the tightrope, since if two more legislators decide to resign, it would cause it to lose the title of the second largest bench and Popular Action would take its place.

Democratic Peru
After the resignation of Bermejo Rojas, there were more casualties to the ruling party. Together with other members who decided to leave Somos Perú and Acción Popular, the new parliamentary group Perú Democrático was created.
This group was announced in January of this year and was made up of seven legislators. In their ranks are Hector Valer (We are Peru)Carlos Zeballos (Popular Action) and experulibristas Hamlet Echeverría, Nieves Limachi, Luis Kamiche and former Minister of Labor Betssy Chávez.
In the beginning, Democratic Peru had 5 members. Nieves Limachi and Betssy Chávez who later joined.
Magisterial Block of National Concertation
In May 2022, the most significant loss of the pencil match was recorded. Some 10 parliamentarians resigned en bloc after the plenary session of the Congress culminate with the election of the new magistrates of the constitutional Court.
The legislators who withdrew belonged to the teachers’ wing of the caucus. This is how the new group called Magisterial Block of National Concertation.
The members of this political group are Katy Ugarte, Alex Paredes, Elizabeth Hermosilla, Pasión Dávila, Segundo Quiroz, Edgar Tello, Paúl Gutiérrez, Francis Paredes, Germán Tacuri and Lucinda Vásquez.

They are Jorge Marticorena, Víctor Cutipa, Elías Varas and Jorge Coayla.
