President Pedro Castillo will swear in the new Minister of Agriculture tonight, after Javier Arce presented his irrevocable resignation from office last Sunday, June 5, which was accepted by the Executive.
According to RPP, the new head of Midagri would be the economist Andrés Alencastre, who represented Peru Libre in the technical debate organized by the National Elections Jury (JNE) for the second round of the 2021 General Elections.
Alencastre met with Castillo Terrones at the Government Palace between 8:27 am and 9:20 am, according to the visit log of the Presidential Office.
It is not the first time that the name of the economist from the La Molina National Agrarian University has come up to assume the office of Agrarian Development and Irrigation. In July 2021, after Pedro Castillo’s victory at the polls, heled the transfer team of this sector.
