Shakira and Gerard Piqué have ended their sentimental relationship of more than a decade in the midst of rumours, questions and speculation from both their fans and the international press.
Through a brief statement from their agency, the celebrity couple have made known their decision to move away after 12 years of sharing their lives together. The result of that love are two children.

“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding,” was the message at the end of their courtship.
About this break Shakira has not spoken on her social networks and those who know her say that she probably will not, at least for now in the midst of the avalanche of information that revolves around their separation.

Until now Shakira has taken the position of keeping silent, an attitude that has always been seen when talking about her privacy. She has already passed with other old loves in which there were also rumors, including a case of domestic violence by one of her ex-partners.

That particular case has to do with the Puerto Rican actor Osvaldo Ríos, with whom Shakira fell in love at the age of 21 and that the Colombian artist never came out to deny or to affirm if the speculations of her partner’s alleged aggression towards her were true.
It was a love that lasted about a year.
Another highly publicized break in which ‘Shak’ kept his distance from the press was the one starring Antonio de La Rúa, the son of former Argentine President Fernando de La Rúa.
With De La Rúa he lasted about 10 years of love affairs until he met Piqué in 2010, when his relationship with the gaucho was not going through a good time and they had decided to put that romance aside.
However, the separation was a bit stormy as De La Rúa sued Shakira for close to 100 million dollars, money he claimed for the alleged breach of advertising commitments after their breakup.
This lawsuit against the singer did not prosper and a judge ruled in favor of the artist from Barranquilla.
From her other romantic relationships in her youth, it is known that she had her first boyfriend at age 15, Óscar Pardo, a neighbor who apparently was also unfaithful to her. Few details are known about this first love precisely because the singer speaks little about her intimate life.
Three other loves from Barranquilla in their beginnings in music have been forgotten and little is known about why they ended and under what conditions.
This is why many of Shakira’s fans believe that in the case of her separation from Piqué there will be no more details. She is used to not disclosing her intimacy and this time it seems that she will not be the exception.
