The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, held a meeting this Friday with the Russian ambassador to the country, Sergei Melik-Bagdasárov, to strengthen the ties of brotherhood.
“I have had the honor of receiving on June 3 the Ambassador of the Russian Federation accredited to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Sergei Melik, with whom I had a pleasant conversation, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between our countries! Caracas, host of peoples !” he wrote through his Twitter account.
The Russian diplomat described the meeting with Meléndez as cordial and affirmed that it served to share experiences “regarding the first Immortal Regiment that took place in Caracas on May 7 and we analyzed the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the capitals.”
This week the Russian ambassador also participated in an act of recognition that the Venezuelan Government made to Russia for its cooperation in favor of children in the country with the projects of the United Nations Fund (Unicef).
Venezuela and Russia share a High-Level Joint Commission that has allowed Caracas to sign strategic agreements in areas such as health, oil, gas, transportation, technology, among others.
