To receive the vaccine, it will be necessary to respect an interval of at least four months in relation to the first booster dose.

People aged five years or older who have not yet received the first or second dose of vaccines can also take the vaccine against covid-19 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The first booster dose can be given to adolescents aged at least 12 years, adults and the elderly, and the second booster dose was already available for people aged 60 years and over.

In a press conference held today, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, made a appeal for the population to be vaccinated and for people with flu symptoms, students from public and private networks and people in the risk group to wear masks.

The municipality recorded 5,000 new cases of the disease last week, and, for every 100 tests on people with flu-like symptoms, 20 confirm the presence of SARS-CoV-2. Despite this, the city government decided not to impose restrictive measures.
