“Approve x Chile”, campaign supported by almost 90 civil society groups, launches “walking draft”

A little more than 3 months before the exit plebiscite is held to approve or reject a New Constitution, support has already begun to emerge for each of the different options that will be on the ballot that September 4.

The latest campaign is “Approve x Chile”, which is made up of almost 90 civil society groups such as the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), Movilh, Amnesty International Chile, the Association of Feminist Lawyers (Abofem), the NGO FIMA, the Kairós Corporation, and Organizing Trans Diversity (OTD).

On their website, they point out that “we have been working for many years to live better, based on different demands. A new Constitution for all, made by and for the citizenry. The opportunity to advance towards a fairer country is threatened by who want to keep us in an unequal Chile, misinforming citizens or raising uncertain alternatives, which in practice, keep the 1980s constitution and its moorings in force.”

“We are citizen organizations that are going to vote I Approve and call on others to join, to meet again in our desires, to defend the progress that this new Constitution means and the rights that improve the lives of all people,” they add.

This Thursday they released their third video of the campaign, starring two street vendors offering the printed draft of the New Constitution in the streets of Santiago.

Said material was produced by the strategic communication organization Cuarto de Guerra Cooperativa, who previously directed the strategy of Gabriel Boric’s pre-campaign to collect signatures, and integrated the communications strategy area of the first and second round presidential campaign; they worked on the media positioning of No + AFP; they carried out the campaign strategy, preparation of spokespersons, media plan among other communication actions of the conventional Broad Front, Jaime Bassa; and they worked with the FIMA group, they developed a communication strategy for the “Ecological Constitution” campaign.
