The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC), reported that it maintains a warning of prevention, due to atmospheric instability, in the region, which may generate significant rains with some storms, in the coming days over the Panamanian territory.
The areas under notice are: Panama Oeste, Coclé, Herrera, Los Santos, Veraguas, Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro, Comarca Ngäbe Buglé, Colón, Comarca Guna Yala, Darién, Comarca Emberá, Panama and the maritime sectors of the Caribbean and Panamanian Pacific. indicates the Hydrometeorology Management of Empresas de Distribución Eléctrica SA, (ETESA).
Accumulated maximum rainfall per probable day is expected in Panamanian Pacific provinces and regions from: 10 to 50 MM or liters of water per square meter; in the Caribbean provinces and regions of the country and mountainous regions with the possibility of higher amounts.
ETESA warns about the possible incursion of a new frontal system # 4 in Central America as of November 29, 2021.
Prevention measures:
• Watch for any street furniture, cranes or items that could fall.
• Remember to have an emergency backpack on hand.
• Don’t risk your life trying to cross streams.
• If it is raining, avoid driving at high speeds.
