The officials of the Department of Purchases of the Social Security Fund protested on the morning of this Monday, May 30, and assure that the work stoppage they called from today could be avoided, but that the authorities did not respond to their requests.
Luis Lee, spokesman for the officials, explained that they have been requesting that a negotiating table be set up to present their concerns for some time, but to date they have not been heard. “We have not sat down to dialogue, nor is there any dialogue table with the authorities,” he said, assuring that the agreements reached in 2015, with the past administration, are being violated.
He explained that with the administration of Stevenson Giró they agreed on a table to discuss the salary scales and he highlighted that they owe him two tables of minimum wage for which they demand that these salaries be reviewed; They also ask that the descriptive manual of charges be updated, which has not been updated for more than 35 years.
“What we are looking for is to fix the human resources structure of the Social Security Fund at the national level,” he said, accepting that the strike is going to affect the process of purchasing medicines, but said that the responsibility lies with the authorities that do not They responded to their requests for dialogue.
He warned that if there are no answers, the protests will continue every day until they are attended to. In the province of Colón, at the Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, staff from this department also protested at noon.
Lee asked that it be the director of the CSS, Enrique Lau Cortés, who appoints the staff that can attend and respond to his requests.
