MIAMI, United States.- A federal judge admitted an amparo proceeding against the agreement made between the government of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) and the Havana regime for the hiring of 500 Cuban doctors, reported this Thursday Infobae.

According to a note that explains the lawsuit, this May 26, José Luis Evaristo Villegas, head of the Second District Court for Civil, Administrative and Labor Protection of Puebla, admitted the complaint, made by a citizen, for processing.

The plaintiff, reads the text, argued that the administration in charge of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) has not verified the quality of Cuban health personnel, in addition to the fact that their studies have not been approved in accordance with the regulations of the matter.

Despite the complaint, the judge decided not to stop the agreement with the Cuban regime as requested by the citizen, since he considered that in the acts claimed there is no warning, so far, that public order provisions are contravened.

“Future acts of uncertain performance, both in their execution and in their effects, are not likely to serve as a matter for the precautionary measure; This only proceeds if there is certainty about its realization because they are imminent acts, “said Evaristo Villegas.

On June 1, the judge will decide whether or not to grant the definitive suspension, after reviewing the previous reports sent by the Federal Government.

AMLO’s announcement

The Mexican president announced this month, after a visit to Cuba, as part of an official tour of Central America, that his government had agreed with that of Miguel Díaz-Canel to hire 500 Cuban doctors due to the “deficit of specialists” in the country. Since then the critics by opponents, academics and national health personnel have not ceased.

The Mexicans who reject the agreement assure that the National Regeneration management will hire the doctors in order to finance the Cuban dictatorship with the salaries of the health personnel.

After several days of controversy, on May 21 López Obrador defended his strategy during his morning press conference from the state of Sonora.

According to the president, before the news a controversy has begun in the conservative sector without taking into account that “first they will hire” national health professionals.

“Now there is a controversy because we are going to hire, we are going to bring, then to hire all the doctors in Mexico, we know that it will not reach us because these irresponsible corrupt people left us without doctors, we do not have in Mexico the doctors that our people need. (…) once we hire all the doctors and we know that we will need it especially in rural areas, in the most remote communities, we are going to hire 500 Cuban medical specialists and that has the conservatives very angry, well they know (…) Let them go to hell! because the first thing is the health of the people”, said the Chief Executive.
