The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) declared appropriate, this Tuesday, May 24, the expedition of the election kit (collection of signatures) in order to promote the constitutional reform initiative for the project “early general elections and that they all leave”.
The proposal that seeks to shorten the mandate of the Republic President, peter castleand of the current congressmen, it has been promoted by Luis Flores Reátegui, secretary general of Metropolitan Lima for the political party Avanza País.
“That, with the first visa file, the citizen Luis Flores Reategui, as promoter, requests the issuance of forms for the collection of signatures of adherents (Electoral Kit) for the exercise of the rights provided for in Law No. 26300 , “Law of the Rights of Citizen Participation and Control in order to promote the constitutional reform initiative,” says the ONPE document.

“The review of the proceedings warns that the promoter submitted the request in compliance with the requirements under the TUPA, as well as not violating the limitations established in article 19 of Law No. 26300. Therefore (…) its origin is viable ”, details ONPE resolution No. 000020-2022.
In this way, the body in question provides for the registration of this electoral kit in the System of Lists of Adherents; as well as the summons of the promoter Luis Flores for the expedition of the same.
Advance of elections
On May 2, the non-grouped legislator Susel Paredes presented a similar project, but this time in Congress the same way to advance the general elections and cut the mandate of the President of the Republic (Pedro Castillo) and of the congressmen.
The initiative includes the same proposal that was presented at the time by the parliamentarian of Peru Libre Pasión Dávila, but which was removed from the agenda last Friday, April 29, after the spokesman for his own caucus, Waldemar Cerrón, together with the perulibristas Paúl Gutierrez, Margot Palacios and Silva Robles, will withdraw their signature of support.
Said proposal must also be debated in the Constitution and Regulations Commission of Congress. If approved by a majority, it will be debated in plenary session.
